ideal habitat

this is a really accurate picture of my ideal habitat.
overlooking the sea, with hilly mountains
the windmills & ferris wheel makes my heart skip a beat.
wish such beautiful sight will greet me whenever i sit by my window.
i found this pic on this site.
Japan.

perspectives

love this series of pictures from this artist.
just looking at the pictures brings me new perspectives.

Water baptism

it's reallie a day of celebration as we celebrate ll's water baptism. :)
guess being *young at heart*, we had great fun laughing at all the silly baptism jokes.
with ll's hubby playing with a towel like we are at some hot spring.
but it's an enjoyable time indeed.
most importantly witnessing a important event of ll's life.

An accomplishment or a dreaded inevitability?

Finally finished the book - Can you keep a secret? by Sophie Kinsella.
I've started reading my next book - P.S, I Love You by Cecelia Ahern.
I found this portion really interesting or rather timely...
It talks a little about ageing.
Getting old should be an achievement and a challenge to us.
Though ageing is something we wanted so much to avoid.

I begin to understand that very much after a series of events that happened.
How often when we celebrate birthdays and
we dread it so much to remember how old we become.
That perhaps it has become a dreaded inevitability?
Yet when I see how fragile life is...
I truly think that to live to a ripe old age is a blessing indeed.
Perhaps we are so overcome by ageing that
we forgot that God is extending His blessings with each new year.
Indeed, my blessings in Christ is countless.

Transient life

life is transient.
if life is taken away due to sickness, i understand.
if life is taken away due to crime, i understand.
but what if life is taken away with no exact reason...
i doubt i can ever fully understand.
how often we live our lives carelessly
perhaps its a timely reminder
to treasure what we have
to live as if it's the last
to hang on to what we believe in
cos tomorrow might never come...

home sweet home

spent a full day at home today.
it's really nice just being at home
especially for working people
who hardly can have that special privilege.
i did a whole lot of stuff at a relaxing pace.
i managed to catch a short nap,
sun my wardrobe, surf the web for designs inpsiration,
make two boxes and a frame,
finished up my 3 page writeup.
later will do some planning and reading.
I enjoyed my time spent at home.
its really relaxing... :)

met up with a particular group of my secondary friends.
they r the ones whom i spent most of my school time with 13 years ago.
think we all look and remain much the same as before,
except for some hair style changes. :)
i see how time flies past & thirteen years went pass just like that.
think it is so important to treasure the pp ard us
before this life is taken away from us.
i read in a blog recently that
*life is more important than work*
had a good time catching up with each other.

encouragement

Keep your lives free from the love of money
and be content with what you have,
because God has said,
"Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you."
So we say with confidence,
"The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?"
Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you.
Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:5-8

November 16, 2007

think I have this big *weakness* for pattern paper.
Every time i see new designs, i simply can't resist getting some of them.
This is one of my favorite brands - Scenic Route.
I really love the colours and the simplicity of the patterns.
I am using them for some of my christmas projects. :)

so lovely! wish there are bags made of these patterns.

gnomes

i love these little gnomes. saw this pic as I was surfing online.
they really brightened up my day.

Went back to clear up my workplace today.
Though spent 5 hours and threw away one huge trash bag of papers,
I am still not done yet.
guess I will need to make more regular clearance
of my pile of papers next year.
made a trip to mwl & diaso today... big damage again :(
but I am quite looking forward to making more stuff tonight :)

I put up my white board at my desk.
though holidays are here, my work never seem to end.
*xianz*

Life can be a dilemma

Life can be a dilemma,
do u feel so?
everyday I am faced with challenges,
how to deal with people,
how to balance my emotions and will with the word of God...
I learn new things about myself each day.
I can see how God is teaching me new things.
Showing me how imperfect I am.
He is faithful still.

many many things...

this two months will be a break for me. in fact, i look forward to this long break every year. for one who hasn't taken MCs and who has no leave from work, this break is probably my most treasured time to rest & recharge. I really do hope to accomplish all these in these two months.

1. read all my books & magazines. I have like almost close to 20 books and magazines (some of them are still packed in their orginal state when it reached my house *sigh*) which have been awaiting for me to digest them since Jan.
2. read my story books... oh dear, I have like a handful at hand and they are reallie great titles. I am really trying to cultivate my reading habit.
3. plan my lessons, do my worksheet, notes and programme next year. thats a big one I have to do.
4. make altered stuff... I have to finish all my altered stuff for Christmas pressies. 2 down already and lots more to go...
5. meet up with quite a number of friends. this is the best time to catch up with my friends.
6. go to bkk to get more suppliers for my craft. *hope it will come to pass*

On top of that, I will still need to go back to work to do up the timetable, which I am totally new to. go for cca meetings. Not forgetting that I need to pack up my work desk... its really very cluttered.
oh dear, what a busy break!

Reorganizing links

reorganized my links to my blog and included a section on the design websites that i frequent (almost daily). very inspired by the designs and colours from these sites. in fact, seeing them reallie lightened my mood. the following postcards designs are from Shinzi Katoh
its reallie very cute :)

Body shut down

feeling a bit *nua* these couple of days. i analyzed that it is probably due to a number of factors.
a) the humid weather that keeps luring me to my afternoon naps.
b) procrastinating about work (as usual) ... cant seem to do anything productive at all.
c) "holidays" is just around the corner so my body has kinda shut down. work seems unfamilar and foreign suddenly.
Ah... but I still have so much of it not done. Argh.

distracted by the vast information contained online. was quite intrigued by designs and deco these few days. saw this cute little bear which I just wish I can get hold of one.

guess if I can be so skilled and make my own cute stuff.. that will be heavenly.

bought my second set of stamps and inklings today. will continue my scrap affair later... time to do some work. :) thanks sl for accompanying me today :D

Visit to T3

can u see the panels on top?

its "green wall " and man-made waterfall create quite a nice effect.

visited T3 today for our staff learning journey. the infrastructure is quite interesting. i like the way it allows natural light to come through its complex panels of solar panes. guess all of us wanted more of taking a flight from there instead of just touring around.

Mini Layout

Did this layout a few days ago. It's actually a mini layout for my ikea frame. was quite inspired to do one after purchasing the Recess papers from Basic Grey. It's the first time I tired using more layering of patterned papers. It's reallie quite cool to try layering of papers. Quite excited too.. cos I bought my first stamp and ink pads. Can't wait to try it out. :)
