Chengdu 2011

Finally I am back from Chengdu after a very eventful experience indeed. It's a generally clean and pleasant city though its part of China. In fact, its modern and rich in heritage. I am indeed amazed at the speed of development of China that perhaps Singaporeans really need to catch up too else they will lag behind very soon.

Thank God for His hand upon us throughout this trip as it could easily turn to a disaster if it hasn't been Him at work. Firstly we took this nerve-racking ride to Jiu Zhai Gou which was enough to make anyone with a weak heart to encounter a heart attack. It's one flight that I thought I might not be able to survive it. Thank God for His hand of grace indeed. :) Secondly, a severe leakage in the cabin was discovered when the plane was about to leave for Singapore. This resulted in a long and painful delay of 18 hours 15 minutes as well as transferring of luggage to and fro to temporary accommodation for the night. Thank God it was discovered in time and that we managed to make it safely.

Indeed, I think at times many things are often for granted like your family, friends and loved ones. Yet through all these incidents, indeed nothing can be absolute in life especially your life. It's a gentle reminder to treasure every moment and time you have.
